Product Introduction

secondary emulsifier-UBDrill-422

UBDrill-261 is a kind of OBM thinner and then diluting them with a certain amount of white oil while using. During the drilling process, fine drill cuttings particles will disperse and accumulate in the drilling fluid. Excessive solid phase can rapidly lead to an increase in rheological parameters, including static and dynamic shear.

An increase in rheological parameters will reduce drilling speed and increase pump pressure until it exceeds the fracture pressure of the formation.

The addition of UBDrill-261 diluents to oil-based mud effectively solves the problem of increased rheological parameters caused by ultrafine drilling cuttings in the absence of efficient solid control equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat is UBDrill-261?

UBDrill-261 is an oil-based mud (OBM) thinner. It is designed to be diluted with a specific amount of white oil during application to manage the mud's rheological parameters.

QHow does UBDrill-261 benefit the drilling process?

It prevents the rapid increase of rheological parameters (such as static and dynamic shear) caused by the accumulation of fine drill cuttings, ensuring drilling speed is maintained and pump pressure does not exceed formation fracture limits.

QWhat are the key technical specifications of UBDrill-261?

It is a light yellow to brown liquid with a pour point of ≤0°C, a density of 0.85~0.95 g/cm³ at 20°C, and a demulsification voltage retention value (at 1% dosage) of at least 70%.

QWhat is the recommended dosage for UBDrill-261?

The recommended dosage is 0.1% to 0.25% (v/w) for low-density fluids and 0.5% to 1% for high-density fluids. A pilot test is highly recommended to determine the optimal dosage for specific conditions.

QIs UBDrill-261 stable at high temperatures?

Yes, UBDrill-261 exhibits excellent thermal stability and is stable at temperatures up to 400 °F, making it highly suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure (HTHP) wells.

QHow should UBDrill-261 be stored safely?

It should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area in closed containers. Keep it away from heat, sparks, open flames, and incompatible materials, following standard safe warehousing practices like proper palletizing and stacking.
