Applications/Functions
- Corrosion Inhibitor UBPro-425 would normally be applied by continuous injection, but it may be applied by batch treatment or tubing displacement. Initial treatment should be up to 4 times the normal level to ensure complete filming of lines.
- Dose levels would normally be in the 15 - 40 ppm range (with respect to total produced fluids) the precise level being dictated by the severity of the corrosion problem.
- Corrosion Inhibitor UBPro-425 may be line injected or atomised into gas lines using a suitable chemical pump. It is completely soluble in methanol.
Recommended Handling
※ All personnel handling this material must handle it as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Packaging and Storage
- Packed in 200 liter metal or plastic drums.
- Store in dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Store away from incompatibles. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and /or stacking.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the primary use of Corrosion Inhibitor UBPro-425?
UBPro-425 is a water-soluble/highly oil-dispersible, strong cathodic film-forming corrosion inhibitor. It is designed for film persistency and corrosion protection of tubing and pipelines in both oil and gas field operations, even under turbulent shear rates of up to 10 meters per second.
Can UBPro-425 replace other standard industry corrosion inhibitors?
Yes, UBPro-425 can be used as an alternative corrosion inhibitor for Clariant's 14420.
What types of corrosion does this product protect against?
It protects against corrosion caused by carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), and organic acids, operating effectively across a wide range of oil/condensate to water ratios.
What is the recommended application method and dosage?
It is normally applied via continuous injection, but batch treatment or tubing displacement can also be used. The typical dosage is in the 15 - 40 ppm range based on total produced fluids, depending on the severity of the corrosion.
What are the packaging and storage requirements for UBPro-425?
It is packaged in 200-liter metal or plastic drums. It must be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area with the container tightly closed, away from heat, sparks, open flames, and incompatible materials.
